After years of anchoring behind the drum kit for several bands, leaving a trail of drumsticks from New Jersey to Portland, Monty Vega has made his way to center stage with his band, The Sittin' Shivas. Montys' songs draw from his New Jersey childhood, marinating in 70's AM hit radio, to his musically formative teen years, studying intently at Rock n Roll High School. His songwriting reflects the beautifully dysfunctional world that surrounds him, eternally searching for those little silver linings in life, while relentlessly clobbering you over the head with hooks!
